The Complete Guru Purnima Darshan Guide

Guru Purnima is the most vibrant and heavily attended festival in Akkalkot. Devotees from all over Maharashtra and Karnataka arrive to seek the blessings of Shree Swami Samarth. Planning ahead is not just recommended; it is essential.

The main temple gates open earlier than usual during the festival. If you wish to avoid the 4-6 hour long queues, joining the line by 3:00 AM is highly advised. The energy during the early morning Kakad Aarti is an experience that cannot be described in words.

Parking during this time is restricted near the main temple. We recommend using the designated municipal parking plots on the outskirts of town and taking a local rickshaw or walking the remaining 1.5 kilometers. Ensure your accommodation is booked at least a month in advance.
